Kress are true leaders in commercial landscaping equipment. With their cutting-edge technology, they’ve set themselves apart as innovators in the industry, offering genuine alternatives to petrol that combine high performance with sustainability. It’s this forward-thinking approach that makes them such an exciting brand to work with.
At Impact, we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Positec, the driving force behind Kress, for over seven years, collaborating closely with their fantastic marketing lead, Nicki Jones. Over that time, we’ve built a strong one-to-one relationship based on trust, creativity, and a shared drive to push boundaries. It’s this partnership that has made projects like this possible, and it’s why we’re so proud to see our ideas come to life alongside a brand that is shaping the future of landscaping
The brief for us was to create three separate stands, each with its own atmosphere and purpose. These exhibition zones were designed as follows:
The Innovation Zone
A space for Kress to launch their new Voyager, demonstrating its capabilities while engaging directly with customers and dealers.
The Experience Zone
The main outdoor hub where anyone could test tools, take part in activities and have conversations with Kress staff.
The Recharge Zone
An indoor hospitality area designed for coffee, conversations and relaxation, a place for clients to recharge themselves as well as their devices. For us it was important to push this stand to its maximum potential. We wanted visitors not only to be drawn to Kress’s presence at GroundsFest but also to genuinely enjoy their time there. By carefully considering the target audience, we were able to create a fresh and engaging ways to connect visitors with the Kress brand.
The Innovation Zone needed to deliver a sleeker atmosphere than any of the other stands. It was Kress UK’s first opportunity to showcase the Voyager alongside the new RTK models. For us at Impact, understanding the product is essential when designing and building a stand like this. It allows us to decide the best way to demonstrate it. We used low-level Herras fencing with branded flashes to create an open demo area, encouraging visitors and dealers to step inside, see the speed and agility of the mowers and discuss their capabilities with Kress BDMs. To add an extra edge, we incorporated a roof terrace for Kress dealers and invited guests, offering a unique viewing platform over the new products. Inside the container, we created a mini office and refreshment area for impromptu meetings and a comfortable space to sit down.
The beating heart of the show was the Experience Zone.
Positioned at the entrance to GroundsFest, it needed to attract and engage immediately. Using three shipping containers, a 5.7m x 13m truss structure and multiple interactive areas, it showcased the full Kress range: hedge cutters, strimmers, chainsaws, blowers and the popular Blower Game 3.0. This game used Kress’s premium blower in a competitive setting where visitors could aim for a high score to win a tool - or simply enjoy refreshments and pizza from Mono Pizza, who served 200 people daily. Branded bottles and giveaways added to the experience. Scanners were also installed so Kress could measure impressions by capturing visitor details.
Finally, the indoor Recharge Zone provided barista coffee, a calm space to rest and a private meeting room for dealers and BDMs. The highlight was an anamorphic screen showing an in-house produced 3D animation of an RTK mower bursting through a wall, combined with influencer content and edited highlights. It was the perfect balance between brand engagement and relaxation.
Large LED video walls have become a signature feature of Kress stands over the past year. For Groundsfest 2025, we partnered with Kress to take things a step further and create an immersive anamorphic animation that would stop visitors in their tracks.
Building on the worm’s-eye-view RTK showcased at BTME, the next logical step was to bring the full RTK to life in three dimensions. We developed a striking animation that made the mower appear to float above visitors as they relaxed in the Recharge Zone.
To achieve this, we built a precise 3D model of the RTK in Cinema4D and carried out a series of test renders. By animating both the mower and its environment, we calculated the exact perspective and camera position needed to deliver the illusion of the mower breaking free of the screen and hovering in mid-air. Careful lighting adjustments were made to further enhance the optical illusion.
As an extra challenge, we also designed a natural environment for the RTK to emerge from. This included over 2 million blades of grass and a variety of flowers that grew and fell realistically as the mower passed through, creating a lush, dynamic scene.
The final animation was rendered in Redshift, composited in AfterEffects and edited into a complete video sequence featuring Kress footage and clear calls to action.
Although GroundsFest officially allocated two days for the build, setting up three separate stands of this size and detail would have been virtually impossible.
Thanks to our strong collaboration with the GroundsFest team, Impact secured an early start. This allowed us to get the foundations in place, including containers, truss and flagpoles, before the main build began.
Each day brought new challenges, and we kept a flexible approach with specialists on site as needed, supported by a core team of five people who remained throughout the build, the show, and the takedown to ensure everything ran smoothly.
The indoor stand, built with modular B-Matrix frames, went up seamlessly thanks to our experience with the system. Outdoor structures were more complex, with ground undulations of up to 200mm requiring careful levelling. As the build took place in September, work stopped at 6:30 each evening and resumed first thing the next morning, keeping us on schedule for the show’s opening.
This project was only possible through strong collaboration with our partners:
Alex at Matinee Transport – daily shuttle runs, offloading assistance, stock deliveries and much more.
L Hunt & Sons – transport and lifting of four shipping containers, the roof terrace and demo logs, as well as precise positioning and levelling.
Stage Concepts – supply of P30 quad truss, lighting, PA system, plus structural calculations and technical advice.
Mono Pizza – serving 200 pizzas a day, a huge hit with visitors and staff alike.
GroundsFest 2025 was a real milestone for us here at Impact. This project wasn’t just about building one large-scale stand, it was about creating three unique spaces, each with its own atmosphere, challenges, and objectives. We couldn’t be prouder of how the team rose to the occasion.
For us, this build really highlighted the power of collaboration. From the dedication of our in-house team to the support of our trusted partners, everyone pulled together to make something truly special happen. Every detail, from the containers and truss structures to the interactive experiences and hospitality spaces, was the result of careful planning, creativity and good old-fashioned teamwork.
What GroundsFest 2025 showed more than anything is that when we put our heads together, ambitious briefs can be turned into experiences that don’t just meet expectations, they exceed them. This wasn’t just another project. For Impact, it was a showcase of who we are: collaborative, creative, and capable of bringing bold ideas to life. We’re incredibly proud to have built it for Kress and even more excited about what’s still to come.
A huge thank you for all your hard work in getting the exhibition stands not just planned, designed and ready, but delivered with a smile and a flourish, and then supported for every minute of the show.
